You will command a troop of perfected servants and mechanical guards. Your ultimate goal is to suppress social unrest and complete your great master plan for perfecting humanity. OR You can be a hero working against the Great Machine to stop the enslaving master plan Together with the other heroes, you promote dissatisfaction in the city, ignite riots and try to bring about a revolution. City of the Great Machine is a strategy game in the Victorian steampunk universe designed as a one-on-many and cooperation game. The game is about a conflict between an alliance of heroes and the Great Machine, an artificial intelligence network for single players. The Great Machine controls the city built on moving sky platforms. As the Great Machine, a player (or the game AI in solo and co-op mode) commands a troupe of constructed servants and mechanical guards. The ultimate goal of the Great Machine is to complete its great master plan and perfect humanity. All other players are heroes working together against the Great Machine to start a revolution. Their goal is to prevent the Great Machine from completing its master plan and thus save humanity from eternal enslavement. Both sides are firmly convinced that their path is the right one.
